Chris Vanderveen of 9News speaks out about shaken baby syndrome in this public service announcement.
Cheryl Preheim of 9News speaks out about shaken baby syndrome in this public service announcement.
“Crying Happens. What’s Your Plan?,” is a new video developed and presented by the Kohl’s Shaken Baby Syndrome Prevention Campaign, led by The Children’s Hospital and The Kempe Center. The video reminds the viewer that it is easy for caregivers to get frustrated by infant crying while offering simple strategies on what to do if you get frustrated by the crying as well as skills that might help when a baby cries. The video is a component of an educational model focused on Shaken Baby Syndrome and how to calm a crying baby that is currently in development.
Upon completion this curriculum will first be used in a pilot research project executed at Children's sites as well as partnering birthing hospitals in the region. The long-term intent is to offer the video and education curriculum to multiple sites including birthing hospitals, primary care practices and additional community service providers to offer a consistent message related to Shaken Baby Syndrome and how to calm a crying baby.

Fussy Baby Network® Colorado
All babies cry, but some cry more than others. For parents, caring for a fussy baby can be exhausting and frustrating. There is no quick fix but there is help. Fussy Baby Network® Colorado is a new program that will begin mid-July for parents
who have concerns about their baby’s fussiness during the first year of life. Beginning in mid-July, the Fussy Baby team will be available to talk by phone via our Warmline to listen, and to provide support and resources. Infant specialists will also be available to meet with you in your home to explore your concerns and offer support. We will talk about your baby’s day, think together about strategies to soothe and calm your baby, and explore ways that you can enjoy your baby more and begin to take care of yourself. There is no charge for this service. Please call us at 877-6-CRYCARE (1-877-6-279-2273).
